Who are the Friends of Mercy?
The Friends of Mercy Hospital is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of dedicated local business leaders and professionals raising philanthropic support for Mercy Hospital in Rockville Center, New York. Since 1935, the Friends have volunteered their time and talents supporting an array of projects for the betterment of all patients seeking care. Their events are renowned across Long Island and include the Gentlemen’s St. Patrick’s Dinner, 9 & Dine, Luau, Golf Outing and Mercy Ball.
Now, over 89 years later, the Friends continue their mission in helping Mercy Hospital with endeavors to advance medical and surgical care for patients. Although members of the Friends focus, first and foremost, on raising funds for the facilities, programs and services at Mercy, they also find friendship and recreational opportunities as an added dividend of membership.
It is estimated that the Friends of Mercy have contributed to Mercy Hospital in excess of $35 million since their inception, providing Mercy’s physicians and their patients with new and improved facilities and equipment.
